He anchored the national record setting 1974 mile relay team as well as being Illinois’s premier high school half miler in the same year. Foot and Ankle Fractures
Athlete's Foot is an infection of the feet caused by fungus. It may last for a short or long time. The most common symptom is cracked, flaking, peeling skin between toes accompanied by redness and itching in the affected area. Infection can spread to the nails. If your infection doesn’t respond to proper self-care after 2 to 4 weeks or frequently recurs you should see the professionals at KPG.
Blisters typically develop due to friction on the skin. Over time, continued friction can cause the top layer of skin to separate from the second layer of skin and eventually fill with fluid. Ankle Sprain occurs when there is a stretching and tearing of ligaments surrounding the ankle joint. For immediate relief follow the R.I.C.E (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation) plan. Consult your KPG podiatrist for a thorough evaluation and diagnosis.

Plantar fasciitis(Heel Spur) is the most common cause of pain on the bottom of the heel. It is a common injury for runners. About half of patients with plantar fasciitis have spurs. Your KPG professional will evaluate and recommend a personalized plan of treatment for you. Treatment plans may include anti-inflammatory drugs, stretching, taping, massaging, orthotics, exercises, and shoe gear.
Achilles Tendon Rupture is likely when the force on the tendon is greater than the strength of the tendon. A classic sign of a rupture is the feeling of being hit in the Achilles or a “pop” sound. Typically you can’t lift your toes while weight bearing. Complete ruptures require surgery.
